ChloraPrep patient preoperative skin preparation is a rapid-acting, persistent and broad-spectrum antiseptic for a range of minor and major medical procedures. The 2% Chlorhexidine Gluconate/70% Isopropyl Alcohol formulation acts fast on a broad spectrum of bacteria, and keeps fighting bacteria for at least 48 hours.
Together, the formulation and single use applicator reduce microorganisms on the skin.
The 2% chlorhexidine gluconate and 70% isopropyl alcohol formulation provides rapid-acting and persistent antiseptic activity against a broad spectrum of microorganisms.
ChloraPrep applicators promote gentle friction scrub to help the solution penetrate the first five layers of the stratum corneum, where 80% of microorganisms reside. The patented ChloraPrep applicator promotes aseptic technique and reduces the risk of direct hand-to-patient contact, reducing the risk of cross-contamination.

Patient Preoperative Skin Preparation with Sterile Solution is the first and only fully sterile povidone-iodine (PVP-I) plus isopropyl alcohol (IPA) in applicator form available in the United States. PurPrep contains Povidone-Iodine 8.3% with 72.5% isopropyl alcohol.
Precautions:
Do not use on children less than 2 months of age.
Do no use on open wounds or as a general skin cleaner.
Do not use on the eyes or mucous membranes.
Do not use on iodine sensitive individuals.
Use with caution on breastfeeding mothers due to potential for transient hypothyroidism in nursing newborn.
